Tompkins Electrified is a project I created to merge my love of rudimental snare drumming, specifically the solos of Joe Tompkins, and my love of electronic drums. 808’s and drummers like Jojo Mayer played important roles in my musical development. These tracks contain a version of the solo, orchestrated for kick, snare, hi hats, and other blips and blops. I’ve also written entire songs behind them that add an awesome extra layer of musical interest.
