Soundscape #1 is a challenging, groovy solo for snare drum and electronics. The electronics are dark, atmospheric, and melancholy. Inspired by the complex snare drum compositions of Joseph Tompkins, Soundscape uses an ever-shifting variety of rhythmic densities to create a unique challenge for the performer and a wild ride for the audience. All electronic sounds were created using Ableton Live 10. Soundscape #1 was commissioned by George Warner in September 2021.
